I am currently in college to be an elementary teacher. These are some books that I read as a child that I really enjoyed and ones I plan to use in my future classroom.
The Giving Tree
Grade Level: Pre-K-K, 1-2
Lexile Level: 530L
The Giving Tree is a precious story about a tree who does whatever she possibly can to make sure a young boy, who she loves dearly, is happy throughout his entire life. I would use this book for younger students to teach about self-sacrifice and the importance of giving to one another.
